![]() Ĭouple of minor quibbles, mostly with the materials used and difficulty customizing/adjusting it. I think the actual execution of this bag was what I was hoping the Evergoods CPL24 was going to be like. I like this bag because of its more effective packing layout and slimmer profile. The bag material, being Cordura, is a little coarser and I did feel like it was chafing me a bit more than the FP3 and its smoother ballistic nylon. Otherwise I would’ve preferred they use that side of the bag for something else like another water bottle pocket or some lash points or something. I feel like it would’ve been more useful had this bag had stowaway straps or had some other mechanism to stabilize the harness system. It has a side carry handle which i guess is okay, but it’s sort of awkward holding it sideways because the shoulder straps just dangle downwards. Maybe it provides extra cushioning or maybe this’ll allow the bag to “bulge outwards” when you over stuff it? Not sure, but I have to assume it was sewn like that on purpose, otherwise it’s just weird I guess it doesn’t really mean much since it’ll collapse back down when you fill the bag up, but I’m just curious why it’s like that. Like if you don’t have a laptop in it, it just bulges towards the interior of the bag. It was probably sewn this way on purpose, but the fleece back panel for the laptop compartment kind of “billows” inward. Don’t know if it’s just b/c I haven’t broken it in yet, but it was kind of annoying having to readjust it Speaking of the straps, the sternum strap webbing keeps lengthening out for some reason, yet it was actually really difficult to cinch it tighter. Because of that, I can’t seem to adjust them as well as I would prefer. Plus the shoulder strap webbing itself is not only very thick but the width is too narrow. That might be a good thing because it means they should hold them in place better, but since the webbing straps are all made of that smooth seatbelt like material, I felt like I had to adjust them pretty regularly since they keep slipping out of position. Included elastic strap keeper are generally a plus, but my main quibble was how hard it was to get the straps into them in the first place. Thankfully the texturized fabric helps hide a lot of it. ![]() However, it does attract more dust/lint than the ballistic. It helps to keep the weight down by just a bit, which is nice. The material isn’t the classic ballistic nylon Aer uses. When I’m just doing EDC stuff, I’ll use my reusable plastic bottle just b/c I’ll usually have more free space available When I travel, I tend to buy a disposable plastic bottle drink that is resilient enough that I can refill it a bunch of times then dispose of it at the end of my trip so that I dont use up space in my bag in case I overpack. ![]() ![]() It’ll obviously take up space from the main compartment when filled, but I think that’s tolerable. The fully enclosed water bottle pocket is okay. Not a big deal, but it is just a tad annoying having to unclasp it from the front The sternum strap has a magnetic closure which is nice, but it has accidentally snapped together a couple of times already after I sat the bag down. I think the bag is also just slim enough that I probably could use this as an extended EDC bag in addition to my travel bag. The LP should have just enough extra space that I can see myself stuffing a couple small souvenirs into it which is something I couldn’t do with the FP3. The FP3’s volume felt smaller than its stated 19L just bc its shape made it difficult to utilize all its space effectively. I think 22L volume may be my sweet spot for one bagging. It’s also much smoother to open/close than the FP3. The laptop compartment has an aquaguard zipper while the FP3 did not. The silhouette is blockier but more streamlined than the FP3’s sort of egg shape and can collapse down a little bit. Shoulder straps are nice and wide and comfy I like that the front pocket has a key lanyard which I didnt think I would miss on the FP3, but I did, so it’s a welcome addition. There’s some effective and conveniently placed organizational pockets that I feel like I could actually use even when the bag is more packed out. It definitely makes loading and unloading the bag so much easier. Anyway, here are some photos and some of my first impressions :Ĭoming from the FP3’s Duffel opening, the LP’s clamshell opening is a welcome feature. So I wasn’t really looking to buy a new bag so soon after my last one, but the Lunar Pack (LP) caught my eye because it had just about everything the Fit Pack did, but with more volume and I think a better apportioning of that volume.
